Something new in myself

A painting with truly great depth and many layers that only gradually—and perhaps even reluctantly—reveal themselves.
The painting describes, in its way, a meeting between the controlled and uncontrolled: The organic patterns are created with a gas burner and high-pressure washer, and rust-brown and grayish nuances flow together in almost geological formations. Something existing has been destroyed to uncover something new: a fine metaphor for self-development and self-realization, as the title also suggests.
There is something very Danish, autumnal about the color palette: like a November day where the rain has washed the harbor quay clean. The oxidized brownish areas stand in contrast to the lighter, almost chalk-like sections.
The piece matches both white, Nordic interiors and earth-toned palettes.
