Why buy my art?

When buying my art you're not merely buying a piece; you’re buying into the narrative of living a more authentic, grounded life. Much like when planting a tree, the best time to buy a piece was last year. The next best time is today 🤗

Organic growth

Organic growth

(2024 - 2025)

120 x 150 cm: mixed media on canvas.

Sold.

The foundation for this piece–Organic growth–began as an experiment with recycled paper and concrete, through which I sought to mimic nature's architectural principles; specifically how root systems create structural integrity through their chaotic yet purposeful growth patterns.

The painting quickly evolved through deliberate material layering, with iron powder introduced in the middle strata creating a rich, oxidized contrast against the verdigris patina of the upper surface.

The verticality of the composition (which actually flows upward) suggests the relentless movement of growth, while the textural variations capture moments of decay and regeneration.

What began as a structured exploration of biological growth patterns ultimately surrendered to its own material evolution. The final piece serves as documentation of this process: a record of chemical interactions, gravity's pull on wet media, and the unpredictable beauty that emerges when artificial and natural processes converge.

The resulting surface, with its complex topography of textures and color transitions, embodies both intentional artistic decisions and surrenders to material behaviors beyond my control.
