120 x 150 cm: mixed media on canvas.

In one of my (many) moments of creative introspection in my studio, I found myself contemplating the blue hand towels that regularly accumulate during my painting process. Rather than discarding these already-recycled materials, I chose to incorporate them into my ever ongoing experiments, (no cliche intended) transforming waste into wonder.
This experimental mixed media wall piece weaves together oxidized metal elements with repurposed paper towels, creating a dialogue between industrial decay and everyday waste.
The naturally occurring rust pigments interact dynamically with ambient light, shifting their appearance much like a weathered metal surface would; ranging from deep amber to subtle bronze tones that blend with the towels' original pale blue. The result is a living, responsive surface that adapts to its environment.
As you might already know, for the past four years I've been challenging conventional approaches to recycling through the creation of interior pieces and furniture, pushing the boundaries of what commercial recycling typically encompasses. A journey that has brought me great creative satisfaction, despite its commercial challenges.
The composition's balanced design allows for versatile display options, working equally well whether hung horizontally or vertically, adapting to different spatial contexts.
Full Circle embodies its title not just in concept but in execution—demonstrating how creative reuse can elevate humble materials into contemplative art, while questioning our collective approach to resource consumption, even within conscious communities.
